Phra Phong Solos Maha Phrom – Wat Sri Thep, Nakhon Phanom (1957)

This revered Phra Somdej amulet, crafted in the Sanghati mold, remains in its original, beautifully preserved condition. It was consecrated in 1957 under the auspices of Ajarn Patom Achasakorn, who at the time served as the head of the local cooperative in Tha Uthen District, Nakhon Phanom Province. Ajarn Patom personally undertook the mixing of the sacred powders used in the creation of this image.

The amulet is closely associated with the venerated Luang Pu Chan (also known as Luang Por Jahn) of Wat Sri Thep Pradittharam, a prominent Dhammayut monastery in Nakhon Phanom. A monk of deep spiritual attainment, Luang Pu Chan held significant ecclesiastical titles during his lifetime, including Phra Sarnparnmunee, before eventually rising to the esteemed position of head monk at Phra Thepsittajarn.

Wat Sri Thep Pradittharam is renowned for its exquisite ordination hall, adorned with 108 murals, and for housing the Phra Sang Buddha image—believed to have been cast in the same period as the iconic Phra Suk and Phra Sai images of Wat Phochai, Nong Khai. This temple and its associated relics continue to hold deep historical and spiritual significance in the region.
