"Phra Sukaputtapatima" amulets, crafted by a hermit, including Phra Perm, Phra Bang, Phra Khong, Phra Liang, and Phra Rod, have been made since B.E. 1223, discovered in Lumpoon province. Legend has it that this land was once owned by the "Mengkabutt" tribe from Cambodia. Prince Sintatta (Lord Buddha) traveled through the Ghontararm and Charorarm villages south of Trakarnmeng town, foreseeing the presence of part of "Phra Baromsareerikatarth" (Lord Buddha's ash/bone) to be safeguarded in a pagoda by King Arthitrarthjao. In B.E. 1008, five hermits emerged from monkhood to achieve enlightenment through meditation. Four temples were built by Phranang Jarmatavee, leading to the discovery of amulets like Phra Perm, Phra Bang, Phra Khong, and Phra Liang. The amulets, renowned for their artistry, were kept in Wat Dongaw, Wat PhraKhong, Wat Mahawan, and Wat Phratoolee. Phra Vasuthep invited Phra Sukkatunta to discuss the city's construction, and Phranang Jarmatavee ascended the throne. Lumpoon's history, marked by the rise and fall of kingdoms, narrates the saga of Phra Rod's discovery at Wat Mahawan. The amulet, created through a ceremony involving 108 hermits, boasts strong protective qualities and is considered one of Thailand's oldest and most revered.
