Phra Mongkhon Warachan, widely known as Luang Pho Chern Punyasiri, was the former abbot of Wat Kok Thong, located in Kudi Subdistrict, Phak Hai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He was a highly revered monk, attracting disciples and followers from across Thailand. Every amulet consecrated by Luang Pho Chern is renowned for its exceptional spiritual power and is highly sought after by collectors and devotees.
Luang Pho Chern was born on Friday, April 12, 1907, in Phong Pheng Subdistrict, Pa Mok District, Ang Thong Province. As a young boy, his father entrusted him to Luang Pho Khab, the abbot of Wat Rue Chai in Kudi Subdistrict, Phak Hai District, to pursue his studies and spiritual training.
At the age of 20, Luang Pho Chern was ordained as a monk on March 28, 1927, at Wat Kok Thong. His ordination preceptor was Luang Pho Khab of Wat Rue Chai, with Luang Pho Pluem of Wat Kok Thong and Phra Palat Chaem of Wat Pho serving as his co-preceptors.
Throughout his monastic life, Luang Pho Chern studied under many renowned monks, including Luang Pho Khab, Luang Pho Pluem, Luang Pho Chong, Luang Pu Suk, Luang Pho Pan, and Luang Pho Klan. In 1949, he was appointed as the abbot of Wat Kok Thong. Later, in 1966, he was honored as a preceptor, and in 1996, he was elevated to the royal ecclesiastical title of Phra Mongkhon Warachan.
Luang Pho Chern passed away on January 21, 2000, at the age of 93, having spent 73 years in the monkhood. It is said that for each amulet he created, he personally chanted and blessed it in seclusion for three months, imbuing it with powerful protective energy.
His amulets are widely believed to possess extraordinary spiritual powers, particularly for protection, escape from danger, and invulnerability. Among his most notable creations is the Phra Pidta Yan Yung, First Edition (1993), crafted from metal alloy. This inaugural edition of Phra Pidta is highly prized for its exquisite surface, which gleams with an iridescence reminiscent of beetle wings. Collectors and devotees are encouraged to seek and venerate these sacred amulets to invite good fortune and spiritual blessings.
