Phra Pidta Mahalarp, created & blessed by LP Tae, Wat Sam Ngam, Nakon Pathom province in B.E.2519 as gift for donors who helped the temple's construction and renovation projects.
Luang Phor Tae, Wat Sam Ngam
Luang Phor (LP) Tae of Wat Sam Ngam, born on September 15, 1891 (BE 2434), and passed away on December 25, 1981 (BE 2524), is revered across Thailand as the King of Kumanthong—the most orthodox and powerful creator of these sacred child spirit effigies rooted in white magic.
From a young age, LP Tae was ordained into monastic life. After three years of filial duty to his parents, he became a monk and set out to study magical arts. At 20, he began learning from renowned monks such as LP Ta of Wat Paneangtak, who guided him into the path of a forest-dwelling ascetic. After LP Ta's passing, he continued under LP Chaem of Wat Takong, who taught him the sacred wiccha (magical knowledge) of crafting Kumanthong using potent Prai Kuman Powder.
LP Chaem's teachings were strict, only using ashes from individuals born and deceased on specific days to ensure maximum spiritual power. LP Tae inherited this knowledge fully, leading to the creation of some of the most effective and sought-after Kumanthong in Thailand.
Despite bathing only once a year—a common trait among spiritually powerful monks—LP Tae’s body was said to never emit odor. He was deeply compassionate, often using donations to support underprivileged children’s education. When going for alms, locals would eagerly offer contributions, which he would always use for charitable causes, blessing each donor personally.
During his travels, LP Tae once visited a destitute village plagued by child mortality. Moved by the suffering, he created Kumanthong from the ashes of cremated children, allowing their souls to earn merit, bless devotees, and eventually reincarnate into better lives. Devotees of LP Tae’s Kumanthong have reported dramatic life improvements—boosts in business, wealth, and personal fortune.
One widely reported event tells of a worshipper accidentally toppling a Kumanthong statue during a visit. LP Tae calmly recited a chant, and the statue reportedly stood upright on its own—an event witnessed and shared widely by the media.
Not everyone could receive a Kumanthong from LP Tae. Only those with true sincerity and kindness were deemed worthy of possessing his sacred relics.
LP Tae’s Khun Paen and Kumanthong are today among Thailand’s top three most revered amulets made from holy Kuman powder, alongside those of LP Tim (Wat Lahan Rai) and LP Kong (Wat Wang Sapparos). LP Tae and LP Tim are especially celebrated for their mastery in producing powerful Kumanthong. Their amulets are still passionately collected, with values rising yearly due to their proven efficacy in attracting wealth, charisma, and wish fulfillment.
