Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, also known as Wat Yai (the Big Temple), is an important Buddhist temple located on the banks of the Nan River, near Naresuan Bridge of Phitsanulok Province. Dating back to the 14th century, this ancient temple is associated with the history of the formation of Phitsanulok land from the Sukhothai period. The temple also houses the Phuttha Chinnarath Buddha statue hailed as the most beautiful Buddha image in Thailand. Another highlight is the 36-meter Khmer style prang that enshrines relics of the Buddha.
