Luang Phor Lersi Lingdam, known as the “Black Tongue Monk,” was born in BE 2460 in Tambon Sali, Suphanburi Province. At six, he began studying Thailand's ancient medicine. When he was 15, he moved to Bangkok to live with his grandmother. At 19, he became a pharmacist in the Naval Medical Department of the Royal Thailand Navy.
In BE 2480, he ordained as a Buddhist monk at Wat Bang Nom Kho. During his monkhood, he studied under many revered teachers, including Luang Phor Parn, who passed down the famous "Millionaire Katha" to him. He also studied dharma and magic with Luang Phor Jong Wat Na Tang Nok, Ajarn Lek Wat Bang Nom Kho, Phra Kru Rattana Pirom Wat Baan Pan, Phra Kru Udom Samajarn Wat Nam Tao, Luang Phor Soon Wat Bang Mor, Luang Phor Niam Wat Noi, Luang Phor Noi Wat Ampawan, and Luang Phor Nueng.
By BE 2492, Luang Phor Lersi Lingdam had developed significant dharma and meditation powers, adopting ascetic practices during the rain retreat. Later, he was invited to return to Wat Bang Nom Kho to serve as the abbot.
In BE 2500, he suffered a severe illness. After recovering, he traveled to the Northern Province and settled at the deserted Wat Tha Sung in BE 2511. As abbot of Wat Tha Sung for 24 years, he restored and expanded the temple, transforming it into a prosperous site valued at nearly one billion baht. He also served as abbot of Wat Saphan in Chainat Province.
Known for his deep meditation, Luang Phor Lersi Lingdam had his six senses fully opened, enabling him to see and hear beyond ordinary capabilities and accurately foresee future events. Through deep meditation, he learned Supra Dhamma from Lord Buddha, often experiencing out-of-body journeys to the celestial realm where he received guidance. He created various amulets under Buddha's guidance.
Luang Phor Lersi Lingdam regularly held talks focused on attaining Nirvana through right conduct, often broadcast on live TV and radio. He passed away in BE 2535.
