Luang Pu Boon of Wat Klang Bang Kaew was a revered monk known for his advanced level of Buddhist practice. The amulets he created, particularly during his tenure as abbot of Wat Klang Bang Kaew, were highly sought after by collectors and devotees for their believed powers, especially the Metta Mahaniyom (charm and attractiveness). Among his most famous creations was the Pong Ya Jintamanee, a special herbal mixture with reputed healing properties.

Born on July 3, 1848 (B.E. 2391) in Thamai district, Samut Sakorn province, Luang Pu Boon was ordained at Wat Klang Bang Kaew on June 21, 1869 (B.E. 2412) after being a novice there since age 15. His preceptor was Phra Palad Pahn of Wat Tukeda, and his Dhamma instructors and witnesses included well-known figures such as Phra Palad Thong of Wat Klang Bang Kaew, Phra Atikan Sap of Wat Newrai, Phrakru Bureemanurak of Wat Supraditaram, and Phra Atikan Jan of Wat Thamohn. He was given the Buddhist name Khantachot.

In 1916 (B.E. 2459), Luang Pu Boon was appointed as a preceptor, and in 1930 (B.E. 2473), he was promoted to the rank of Phra Buddhawitheenayok. He learned the craft of making Bia Gae amulets from Luang Pu Rod of Wat Nairong. These amulets, made from specially selected seashells filled with mercury, were believed to protect against black magic, evil spirits, and bodily harm.

Luang Pu Boon began creating amulets around 1886 (B.E. 2429) while serving as abbot. He crafted various types of amulets, including Phra Chai, Phra Ner Din, Phra Ner Phong, Phra Ner Ya, Takrut, and Bia Gae. Among these, the Phra Chao Sua, meaning "Buddha on a Mountain," was particularly popular, especially among the Chinese, who considered it highly auspicious.

Luang Pu Boon was close friends with Phra Sangaraj Pae of Wat Suthat and Phra Acharn Pah of Wat Rakang Kositaram, and they were often seen together at blessing ceremonies.
Luang Pu Boon passed away on April 8, 1935 (B.E. 2478) at the age of 86.
