Phra Witthit Muni, from Wat Uttamaram (Wat Bang Sae), known as Luang Por Kron, hailed from Bang Sae village, born in 1876 to Yomchum and Yom Kaew Ratcharoen. He received ordination at Bang Sae Temple and later embarked on a journey of learning and practice in Songkhla Province. Taking residence at Wat Hua Jai during Buddhist Lent, Luang Por Kron delved into the study of Vedic wisdom under notable monks in the south, including Luang Por Pan of Wat Khok Samankhun in Hat Yai, and possibly Luang Por In of Tak Bai District, as well as potential studies in Khao Kho.
At Wat Bang Sae, Luang Por Kron, a towering figure, possessed eyes veiled with a hint of authority and a distinctive black birthmark on his tongue, earning him the moniker Reverend Father Lin Dam. Renowned for his eloquence, he garnered respect and awe from both Buddhists and Muslims alike. Eventually, he assumed leadership as the abbot of Bang Sae Temple, spearheading its development in collaboration with local villagers. He pioneered the introduction of Pali Dhamma and meditation examinations for monks and novices, personally guiding their studies. This initiative marked the inception of meditation teaching in Kelantan, as no monk had previously undertaken such a role in the region.
