Phra Witthit Muni, from Wat Uttamaram (Wat Bang Sae), known as Luang Por Kron, hailed from Bang Sae village, born in 1876 to Yomchum and Yom Kaew Ratcharoen. He received ordination at Bang Sae Temple and later embarked on a journey of learning and practice in Songkhla Province. Taking residence at Wat Hua Jai during Buddhist Lent, Luang Por Kron delved into the study of Vedic wisdom under notable monks in the south, including Luang Por Pan of Wat Khok Samankhun in Hat Yai, and possibly Luang Por In of Tak Bai District, as well as potential studies in Khao Kho.

At Wat Bang Sae, Luang Por Kron, a towering figure, possessed eyes veiled with a hint of authority and a distinctive black birthmark on his tongue, earning him the moniker Reverend Father Lin Dam. Renowned for his eloquence, he garnered respect and awe from both Buddhists and Muslims alike. Eventually, he assumed leadership as the abbot of Bang Sae Temple, spearheading its development in collaboration with local villagers. He pioneered the introduction of Pali Dhamma and meditation examinations for monks and novices, personally guiding their studies. This initiative marked the inception of meditation teaching in Kelantan, as no monk had previously undertaken such a role in the region.

Exploring the Enigmatic Influence of Phra Pidta Thai Amulets

The Eternal Essence of Phra Pidta Thai Nirodha Buddha Amulets: Thai Buddhist culture boasts an array of intricate miniature Buddhist artworks, notably Thai Buddhist amulets, renowned for their perceived mystical capabilities. Among these, the Phra Pidta amulet emerges as a revered and formidable talisman. This discourse delves into the enigmatic influence of Phra Pidta Thai amulets, unveiling their origins, symbolism, and import.

Origins Unveiled: Phra Pidta Thai Amulets embody the revered concept of “Nirodha,” denoting the cessation of cravings and desires, a fundamental tenet of Buddhism's Four Noble Truths. Attainment of Nirodha heralds the realization of Nibbana (or Nirvana), epitomizing perfect serenity and liberation from suffering.

Symbolic Implications: Depicted as a seated or standing Buddha with veiled eyes, the Phra Pidta amulet symbolizes meditation and inner tranquility. Closed eyes signify the cessation of desires, while a sealed mouth underscores the significance of righteous speech. The amulet's appellation, "Pidta," translates to "closed eyes" in Thai, accentuating its symbolic essence. Its design and symbolism render it a potent emblem for meditation, spiritual safeguarding, and personal evolution.

Intrinsic Significance: Revered for its purported mystical attributes, the Phra Pidta amulet purportedly offers protection from harm, augments intuition, and attracts fortune and prosperity. It purportedly wards off malevolent energies and forestalls accidents or adversities. Often adorning Buddhist monks and adherents, it purportedly enriches meditation practices and deepens spiritual communion. Additionally, it is believed to exorcise malevolent spirits and shield against maleficent enchantments and sorcery.
